Piri Reis Map
In 1929, a group of historians found an amazing map drawn on a gazelle skin.Research showed that it was a genuine document drawn in 1513 by Piri Reis, a famous admiral of the Turkish fleet in the sixteenth century.
His passion was cartography. His high rank within the Turkish navy allowed him to have a privileged access to the Imperial Library of Constantinople.
The Turkish admiral admits in a series of notes on the map that he compiled and copied the data from a large number of source maps, some of which dated back to
the fourth century BC or earlier.

Since the prehistoric times, our planet has been home to so many mysterious creatures. While some vanished out of existence completely, others are still there peeping through those remote haunts of extinction. They keep on reminding us that their tale, the Yetis’ and the dinosaurs in particular, is not yet over. Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, also known as Golden Rock, is a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. A small pagoda (5.5 m - 18 ft) sits on top of the "golden rock," a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by devotees. The rock itself is precariously perched and seems to defy gravity as it perpetually appears to be on the verge of rolling down the hill.

Vertical crop system is piloted
A new vertical method for growing crops which claims to use less land and only 5% of the water usually needed is being piloted at a Devon Zoo.
The system grows plants in trays of water moving on a conveyor belt.
The company behind it, Valcent, based in Launceston, Cornwall, said it was a sustainable solution to the world's "rapidly-diminishing resources."
Paignton Zoo is planning to use it to grow herbs, leaf vegetables and fruit as food for its animals.
The hydroponic system rotates the plants on a conveyor belt via a "feeding station" to create airflow and stimulate growth.
